At St Thomas school, we prioritize fostering a strong foundation in contemporary literacy and numeracy skills while nurturing the holistic development of our students. Our approach to early years learning is centered around instilling a love of learning and fostering curiousity and wonder in each child.
In our literacy program, we focus on equipping students with the essential skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Through the evidence based program IntiaLit, we provide engaging activities and resources that allow students the chance to explore and develop their knowledge and understanding of all areas of literacy. We encourage students to explore diverse texts, express their thoughts creatively, and develop effective communication skills through writing and speaking.
Similarly, in numeracy, we provide students with opportunities to develop their mathematical fluency, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. Our curriculum emphasises real-world applications of mathematics, encouraging students to understand concepts through hands-on activities and collaborative projects.
We integrate elements of faith and spirituality into our all of our curriculum, fostering an appreciation for Catholic values and teachings.
